The intersection of art and science...
I was once told "to design your career with verbs", not nouns. Mine are create, enable, and strategize!
My multi-disciplinary background in architecture, technology, data, and art stems from the desire to measure the immeasurable and pursue discovery in the commonplace.
With a professional background in architecture, business science, data analytics, and technology, I specialize in connecting IoT to the built environment to measure human behavior. The results can be astounding from improved efficiencies to otherwise unknown human movement that can inform or justify design.
With 10+ years of entrepreneurial experience, I also specialize in design strategy- helping global brands leverage computer vision technology in their organizations through design process, strategy, and visual communications.
Whether designing a mobile UX/UI experience or a community engagement flier, I believe design stems from the collection of human ideas made physical and it is the responsibility of the designer to empower the ideas of those around them.
On a personal note, I live in a historical neighborhood of Detroit in a 100+ year old home. My favorite fun fact about the house is that it's first resident of record was a woman name Elizabeth in 1912- she owned the property but was not allowed to vote until 1920. Get it girl!
I am regularly involved in the Detroit community whether providing design work for local businesses, attending neighborhood events, or supporting Challenge Detroit.
